Pizza or eggplant?

I love pizza!

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always loved pizza. The goey, cheesy, cheese nearly falling off the slice and the tangy tomato sauce spread perfectly underneath. Every time the familiar scent of tomato sauce and cheese fills my nose I'm reminded of the parties and celebrations I enjoyed so much as a little kid. Every time I walk past a pizza shop I'm pulled in by the delicious smell emitting from the oven and floating in the air. I always loved to watch the pizza man kneed the dough and flip it as he made it perfectly round. I have so many happy memories connected to the scent and taste of pizza and I love it so much, unlike eggplant. I absolutely hate eggplant. It's the grossest vegetable ever. It smells gross, it taste gross and looks like a mutated purple egg. When I was little I sneaked some from the vegetable bowl and tried it; I spit it out the moment I tasted it. To this day I have never liked eggplant. Between pizza or eggplant, pizza is the obvious choice.

Seaweed

Okay, so you probably saw the video post of me critiquing the seaweed I tried, but I found something even better, wasabi seaweed; when you first eat it, it taste like regular old salty seaweed but with a tang. Then after a couple seconds you start to taste the wasabi and it burns in your mouth. In my opinion it has a great flavor. I can't exactly describe it but it's definitely spicy. It enhances the taste of the seaweed and makes the flavor of it more interesting. You can buy it at any old supermarket I think, but I'm not sure what section.

Cheese Cake

I really like cheese cake, not everybody likes it but I do. I tried some the other day, I forgot where it was from but I loved it. Like most cheese cake it was white, but looked slightly burnt on top, it almost looked like burnt cream cheese. It had no specific smell, but it was sweet. When I ate it, it tasted like vanilla, cream cheese, vanilla pudding and sugar. The crust was light, and went well with the sweet, cream cheese flavor of the cake. My only criticism is that it was almost too sweet.

Yummy, Tandoori!

About a week ago, I visited an Indian restaurant called Amin. When I first walked in, the lighting was a deep flouresant blue, and the waiters glanced at my friends and I as they rushed off. The lights then turned to a soft yellow as we all sat down  at small tables topped with glasses and red napkins placed neatly inside. It was a small space, but I didn't feel cramped. The first dish that they brought out was Samosa. It looked like a hat made of pastry and smelled like chicken fingers. It tasted like a combination of spices, potatoes and pastry. It was okay, a three out of five stars in my opinion.Then we tried Pakora. It was a combination of veggies and fried pastry, like Samosa it was okay but nothing special. Also, periodically a waiter would come around and refill our glasses with water, which I found to be quite nice. Lastly, we were served Tandoori, a dish including spicy chicken and cabbage, which was probably the best meal. The flavors were fantastic and went perfectly with the Nann, (sweet bread) that they gave us.
Even though the man who refilled our glasses was quite nice, the waiters were kind of rude, for example; I thanked them as I was leaving and I was given no reply. Then I tried to ask a question about one of the dishes but they just walked off as I was asking the question. Overall, I would give this restaurant a three and a half out of five stars.

European deserts; Baklava and Pim's cookies

The other day I tried baklava and pim's cookies. Baklava is a turkish desert and Pim's cookies are another european desert. The baklava was shaped like a  square and the crust looked flaky. It also looked like lime and lemon was grated on top. It smelled like lemons\limes and honey. I was expecting it to be tangy and but instead it tasted like honey, sugar, butter and walnuts. Personally I would rate the baklava a four out of five stars. I liked it but it was a bit too sweet, and it was a bit hard to eat because it was so sticky and flaky. Then I tried the Pim's cookies. The first one was orange flavored and the second was rassberry flavored. Both smelled like chocolate and dough but the organe cookie was gross! It tasted too artifitial and left a funny after taste, I would give it a one out of five stars. But the raspberry cookie was yummy! It tatsed like real raspberries and blended well with the chocolate, I think it deserves a four out of five stars.
